Gilbert M. Barnett 69, of Livermore, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his home in Livermore. Gilbert Morris Barnett was born April 23, 1953 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Raymond Simpson and Shirley June Price Barnett and married the former Donna Carol Tanner on November 5, 1971. Gilbert formerly worked at Commonwealth Aluminum and operated Dreamscape Lawncare before entering the ministry. He served as pastor for several Baptist churches throughout Kentucky and Indiana. Gilbert enjoyed all family activities, singing Bluegrass and Gospel music, playing pool, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Donna Barnett; daughters Tracy Tungate (Shawn) of Lakeland, FL, Heather Murphree (Cory) of Hardinsburg; son Robert M. Barnett of Livermore; mother Shirley June Barnett of Owensboro; former daughter-in-law Rachel White of Brooksville, KY; 6 grandchildren Jonathon Barnett (Ciesaley), Cody Benningfield, Shelby Barnett, Alley Barnett, Daniel Barnett, Kyleigh Barnett; brother Lyndal Ray Barnett (Lisa) of Owensboro; sisters Debra Hobgood (Darrol) of Owensboro, Tamra Burns (Lewis) of Utica, Rachel Ellis (Kevin) of Fairhope, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Family Memorial Services will be held at the pavilion at the Livermore R.V. Park at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 12, 2022 with a gathering from noon until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday.
