Updated July 15 — The Daviess County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist that died in this collision as Nicholas C. Howell, 39, of Owensboro.

Updated 1 p.m. July 13 — Owensboro Police Department responded to the intersection of New Hartford Road and E. 27th Street for a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday.
The motorcycle operator sustained serious injuries and was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he later died. The operator of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The road has reopened.

The Owensboro Police Department is on the scene of an accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in the area of New Hartford Road and 27th Street. The area is expected to be closed for several hours.
The extent of injuries are unknown at this time. AMR Ambulance is also on scene.
