OPD: 2 juveniles facing drug and gun charges, both have previous charges

Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday by the Owensboro Police Department and face multiple gun- and drug-related charges following an investigation involving firearms. Both juveniles had previous criminal charges.

The investigation began when officers received information from citizens regarding drug activity in the 2000 block of West 4th Street, according to OPD. During the investigation, officers recovered two loaded handguns inside a vehicle occupied by the juveniles; one handgun had an extended 31-round magazine, according to a release. 

Juvenile No. 1 was taken into custody and transported to Warren Regional Juvenile Detention for: 

• Possession of Handgun by Minor, 2^nd or subsequent offense 
• Possession of Marijuana 
• Drug Paraphernalia 

Juvenile No. 1 has previously been charged with: 

• Possession of Handgun by Minor, 1^st offense 
• Trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 oz.) 1^st Offense 
• Fleeing or Evading Police 1^st Degree (on foot) 
• Fleeing or Evading Police 2^nd Degree (on foot) 
• Assault 3^rd Degree (school employee or school volunteer) 
• Assault 4^th Degree (minor injury) 
• Assault 4^th Degree (no visible injury) 
• Terroristic Threatening 3^rd Degree 
• Disorderly Conduct 2^nd Degree 
• No Operators-Moped License 

Juvenile No. 2 was taken into custody and transported to Warren Regional  Juvenile Detention for: 

• Possession of Handgun by Minor, 1^st offense 
• Possession of Marijuana 
• Drug Paraphernalia 

Juvenile No. 2 has previously been charged with: 

• Assault 3^rd Degree (school employee or school volunteer) Assault 4^th Degree (no visible injury) 
• Terroristic Threatening 3^rd Degree
