Melvin H. Boyken, Jr.

June 5, 1944 - August 9, 2022

Melvin H. Boyken, Jr., of Livermore, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Melvin Henry Boyken, Jr. was born June 5, 1944 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Melvin Henry and Helen Grace Frizzell Boyken and was married to the former Edith Darlene Miller.  Melvin retired as a plant superintendent from Pittsburgh Tank and Tower in Henderson, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a former member of Island Lodge # 743.  In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Boyken, who died November 26, 2005 and by a son, Mark E. Boyken, who died August 19, 2000.

Survivors include a son, Michael Boyken of Livermore; three grandchildren, Tyler Sanz, Marii Boyken and Brittany Boyken Heep (Tanner); a brother, Bill Boyken of Owensboro; and a sister, Teresa Hudson of Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415.  Friends may visit with Melvin’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Livermore.
