Owensboro’s Dylan Ward was recently named the co-recipient of the 2022 New Professional of the Year Award sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). This award recognizes a young engineer who has made outstanding contributions to the Engineering Profession and the community during the early years of their career.

Ward is currently a Project Manager with the City of Henderson, where he has been employed for the past 8 years. He began his career as an Engineering Assistant and was promoted to Public Works Engineer in 2016 and then to Project Manager in 2017.

Ward received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2013 from Western Kentucky University  (WKU) where he also received the Ogden Foundation Scholar Award, which is presented to one graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and outstanding university and civic engagement. He went on to obtain a Master of Public Administration Degree from WKU in 2018 while working full-time.

Ward coaches a boys’ youth soccer team at his local soccer club, Sportstutor/Owensboro United S.C., and recently achieved a childhood dream by getting to play for the semi-professional soccer team Bowling Green FC Lions.

Ward is also heavily involved at Owensboro Christian Church, where he has volunteered with the high  school ministry for years and hosts a small group with his wife, Hannah.
