Lanham again offering clogging classes at Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum

Barry Lanham, noted clogging performer and instructor, is offering another round of clogging classes this fall at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum. Classes start in mid-September and offer dancing instruction structured for different levels of expertise from novice to advanced. Each class includes six sessions, with one session per week.

With decades of instruction and performance experience, Lanham is recognized as a contemporary leader in clogging within Kentucky.

Covering many facets of traditional Appalachian dancing, participants learn the basics of clogging.  In addition, classes are customized to include full family participation from toddlers to senior citizens, and dancers of all skill levels are welcome during the six-week session. 

Class sizes are limited. Sign-ups are available online here, and in person the night of the first class if spots are available. Class information will be emailed, and payment will be due at the first class. 

The fee for the entire session of classes is $36 per student.

Class Descriptions:

  • Intermediate – This level is for experienced dancers who wish to learn more advanced steps and routines.
  • Easy Intermediate – This level is for those who are ready to advance beyond beginner levels and learn new steps and routines.
  • Beginner Plus – This level is for those who had had a previous beginner class.
  • Beginner – This level is for those who have had no previous experience.

Class Dates:

  • Intermediate Classes – Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m.: Sept. 13, 20, and 27, Oct. 4, 11, 18
  • Beginner Classes – Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.: Sept. 15, 22, and 29, Oct. 6, 13, and 20
