St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church is bringing best-selling author and international speaker Jason Evert to Whitesville on September 14-15. Evert will give two different presentations — one geared toward parents and one toward teenagers — surrounding the topic of living a pure life.
Both presentations will take place Sept. 14 at the Horn Community Center, located at 10534 Main Cross Street in Whitesville.
The first takes place at 6 p.m. and will be for parents. It is entitled “Parenting for Purity.” The premise of this seminar is to provide communication tools, resources, statistics, and a whole host of information to parents as they find themselves competing with Netflix, social media, porn sites, and many other influences that entice young people away from a pure life.
The second takes place at 7:30 PM and is geared toward teenagers (grades 7-12). It is entitled “Love or Lust?” In this seminar, Evert will present God’s plan for human sexuality and present a case for practicing chastity.
On Sept. 15, students from Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Owensboro are invited to attend the “Love or Lust?” presentation at 9:30 a.m. Some of the diocesan Catholic schools will be bussing those students to the presentation.
