Daviess County Animal Care & Control is waiving adoption fees for adult cats through September 17 due to the high number that have been taken in recently.
The adoption fee is typically $40 for adult cats. All of the cats have already been fixed so they are “ready to go” according to Ashley Thompson, director of the facility.
“We have an overabundance of cats and kittens that are in need of homes,” Thompson said. “We just have a lot of cats coming into the shelter every day.”
