Lily J. Spencer Gross

Lily J. Spencer Gross, 82 of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on September 7, 2022 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on May 7, 1940 to the late Alfred and Myrtle Spencer. Lily was a psychic and a teacher of astrology who founded the non-profit organization I.C.C.A.S, the Institute of Cosmic Concepts Astrological Sciences. Lily was also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and an avid collector of antiques and glassware and enjoyed arts and crafts, making and painting ceramics, and photography. She was a very strong, independent, and high-spirited person. She was a dedicated genealogist, having traced her family tree back to her Cherokee ancestors many generations back.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Pate; a sister, Shirley Johnson; and two brothers, Granville Spencer and Kirby B. Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Gross; two daughters, Tina Hylton and her husband Thomas, and Tanya Sumner and her husband Matt; three grandchildren, Tabatha Azarela, Chad Hylton, and Logan Sumner; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Roseville Cemetery in Hancock County, Kentucky, officiated by Rev. Larry Sosh. A bereavement meal will follow at Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship, 2425 St Rte 144 West, in Pellville, Ky.
