GREENVILLE- Mary Dean Mitchell, age 80, of Greenville passed on September 15, 2022, surrounded by her family at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Mary was born on July 22, 1942. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Madge Kinkade, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her brother Mitch, and her sister, Brenda. She attended church at the First Christian Church in Greenville. She retired from the Muhlenberg County School Board after 35 dedicated years.
She was married to the love of her life, Kenny Lane Mitchell, for 46 wonderful years. She was a mother to two daughters; Lisa (Lee) Hampton and Melody (Darryl) Smith. Cherished grandmother to Chase, Addison, and Jaxon. Devoted great grandmother to Harlee, Payton, and Kamber. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.
Mary, or Mary Dean, as most people called her, was not any ordinary woman. To us, she was an extraordinary woman. She dedicated her heart and soul to her family, and was a faithful friend to many. She enjoyed line dancing, shopping, and surrounding herself with loved ones. She was known as “The Dancing Queen” to her friends, or the life of the party, and a long time member of the Homewreckers. She was small in stature, but mighty in spirit. Not only was she a force in this world, but was a light in our lives.
