Glenn Family Services is again honoring veterans this Friday by providing a drive-thru lunch, providing free meals from Old Hickory Bar-B-Q for all those who have served. Cathy and Tommy Mullins will also be on site with Veterans Empowered Together, handing out Operation Gratitude veteran care packages.

This will be the 10th annual Veterans Day lunch, and the third consecutive year of offering the meals in a drive-thru fashion.

“We started the drive-thru in 2020 because of COVID-19 restrictions,” said Rachael Taylor of Glenn Family Services. “By evolving to drive-thru, we were still able to honor our community’s veterans in a safe manner. We continued into 2022 because it has been so well received.”

Last year, more than 200 meals were provided to local veterans.

Meals can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at 900 Old Hartford Road. Visitors should enter from Old Hartford Road and come to the west side of the funeral home under the carport.
