CENTRAL CITY – Edith Leona Cartwright, 78, of Central City died December 4, 2022 at 4:19PM in Auburn, Kentucky. Mrs. Cartwright was born November 22, 1944 in Gary, Indiana. She was a CNA for Belle Meade and a member of Union Chapel General Baptist Church. She loved her dog, Tippy, her family, and especially her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed her bird, Smokey. She liked her sweets, mainly chocolate, and she enjoyed reading and playing solitaire during her free time. She was preceded in death by husband, Clarence Ray Cartwright; her mother, Edna Miller; father, Delbert Miller; brothers, George Miller, and Richard Miller; sisters, Marlene Nelson, Ann Stewart, Jeanette Miller, and Avis Miller; and grandchildren, Andrew Jordan Bowles, and Christian Wayne Johnson.
She is survived by her children, John H. Cartwright, Mary (Tom) P. Ewing, Jenna (Terry) Stratton, Minnie (Brian)Duvall, Nancy (John) Johnson, Amanda (Chris) Key, Edith J. Cartwright, Kezia (Johnny) Anderson, and Dorothy (Nick) Braden; brothers, Marvin Miller and Robert Miller; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00AM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Mr. Paul Moore officiating. Burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
