
Joseph E. Kinnerson, of McDaniels, known to most as Joe or Sambo, went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2023, after a lengthy battle with COPD and Emphysema. He was 66 years old.
Joe was a former Marine, farm hand, and “grass jockey” as he referred to himself while employed as Superintendent at Lafayette Golf Course and later, as Superintendent at Breckinridge County Community Center.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kinnerson; his mother, Ressie C. Carman; sisters, Gerald J. Compton and Mary Lou Kinnerson; brother, Darrell Lynn Kinnerson and nephew, Jason Scott Kinnerson.
Joe is survived by his former wife, Debra Kinnerson of Hardinsburg; former wife, Debbie Popham of Union Star; daughters, Crissy (Scotty) Spencer of McDaniels; Stacy Kinnerson of Union Star and Missy (Richie) Allen of Webster; 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and brother, David (Fay) Kinnerson of Hardinsburg.
A memorial service will be held on January 20, 2023 at 10 AM at the Locust Hill United Methodist Church. No visitation or graveside services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Locust Hill Cemetery.
