World-renowned bluegrass artist Billy Strings has teamed up with the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum to launch an exclusive pop-up shop at the museum store.

The one-of-a-kind addition will showcase Strings’ most recent release, Me/And/Dad, which features songs with his dad, Terry Barber. According to a release from the museum, the record features new versions of 14 bluegrass and country classics that the father-and-son duo have been playing since Strings was a child.

“As long as I can remember, I wanted to make a record with my dad,” Strings said in the release. “It’s been a bucket list thing for me, something I’ve been afraid I wouldn’t find the time to do. And that scared me; not doing this record scared me.”

The display and pop-up shop will complement the record with features from the album’s artwork. The release said visitors would initially see prominent design elements when comparing it to the album cover, soon discovering additional features which reference the album.

“We are incredibly excited to bring the magic of Billy Strings to Owensboro,” said Hall of Fame Executive Director Chris Joslin. “The pop-up shop will not only offer fans a chance to connect with String’s music on a deeper level, but it may also serve as an invitation to explore the museum’s exhibits and the history of bluegrass music.”

String’s relationship with the museum dates back to 2016, when he first took the stage at ROMP. He returned in 2017, 2018, and 2019 before becoming a global icon in the music world.

Accomplishments include Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, Artist of the Year at the 2022 Americana Music Awards, Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2022 IBMA Awards, Best New Headliner for all genres at the 2022 Pollstar Awards, Breakthrough Artist of the Pandemic for all genres at the 2021 Pollstar Awards, and Entertainer of the Year and Guitar Player of the Year at the 2021 International Bluegrass Music Awards.

The pop-up shop follows the same hours as the museum, which is open from Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
