Justin Davidson opened Shiloh’s Lounge nearly 3 years ago, bringing a wealth of fun, food, and drinks to Owensboro all in one spot. Davidson named the establishment after his son and takes pride in offering an experience unlike any other community.
The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., reopening from 5-10 p.m. for dinner and even staying open until 2 a.m. on weekends to serve the late-night crowd. Davidson had no idea what to expect when he launched the place but said he’s been pleasantly surprised with the constant support.
Shiloh’s allows patrons to order from the breakfast or lunch menu any time of the day.
“It’s taking off and becoming something,” Davidson said. “At first, we were just trying to find our identity, but now, it’s evolved into something great.”
A big hit at Shiloh’s is the free social poker league, which can lead to spots in monthly or quarterly cash games. The lounge hosts poker tournaments every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday night.
Shiloh’s also boasts a cornhole club, hosting tournaments weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays. Unlike most places, Shiloh’s can host standard cornhole games indoors and outdoors.
“Cornhole is really big right now in the world,” he said. “We’ve been playing for over a year and coming together with other organizations in town that play. A lot of times, we’ll all come together and have a huge tournament. It can get really competitive.”
Davidson said they use state-of-the-art technology to host the tournaments.
Another highlight at Shiloh’s comes on Friday evenings, when the kitchen dishes out many soul food options, ranging from pot roast and collard greens to smoked brisket, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, and everything in between. Davidson said that soul food night was growing so fast in popularity that he was considering adding another night.
When Davidson says they have something for everyone, he means it. The lounge also features an indoor golf simulator with actual golf balls, retro arcade games, virtual reality consoles, and several video game options for customers.
The vibe shifts slightly on the weekends when the dance floor comes to life. Friday night is Ladies Night with several drink specials, while R&B and “Old-School” hip hop fill the room on Saturdays.
Davidson attributes the lounge’s vast success to his dedicated staff and loyal customers.
“Team Shiloh is like a family – none of this would be possible without the people around me,” he said. “We are also very grateful for our many supporters.”
