DCSO responds to gunshot victim; investigation underway

A man was shot while driving on the Audubon Parkway early Sunday morning but his injuries are non-life-threatening, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release, DCSO responded to a gas station in the 3800 block of Carter Road, where a gunshot victim was located.

The male victim told DCSO he was traveling eastbound shortly after 3 a.m. on the Audubon Parkway, approaching Owensboro. He advised officers an unknown vehicle came up beside him, passing him and then slowing down several times, according to DCSO.

DCSO reported that the victim said he heard numerous gunshots and realized he had been shot.

The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives are investigating what led to the altercation.
