Hope’s Embrace, a nonprofit community doula program, is hosting “Bumps & Bundles” on Saturday at the Owensboro Convention Center. The event is designed to showcase businesses and services geared towards pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in the greater Owensboro area.
The event will go from 12-4 p.m. and aims to help make birth support accessible to all who want it. Several organizations will have booths on site to provide information about their services.
Hope’s Embrace is based in Nicholasville and was founded in 2016 by Renee Basham. According to their website, the agency “provides comprehensive maternal healthcare mentoring for under-served families during pregnancy and the critical first year after birth.”
Hope’s Embrace strives to provide safe birth environments that allow the parents to feel empowered and confident in their decisions. The organization does this by engaging with the clients through options that allow them to make informed choices regarding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Their services include birth and postpartum doula services, newborn care, breastfeeding education, childbirth education, and more.
The proceeds from the event on Saturday will all benefit Hope’s Embrace to make birth support accessible.
