Mary Margaret (Stowers) Cundiff, age 87, died January 30, 2019.
Mary was born in Sorgho on her family’s farm, the daughter of the late Richard A. Stowers, Jr. and Jessie Mae (Mattingly) Stowers. She remained in Owensboro for most of her lifetime. She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother to her husband and children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald R. Cundiff, Sr., and her brothers Richard A. Stowers, III and Thomas Stowers.
She is survived by sons Donald R. Cundiff, Jr. (Jeri) and David A. Cundiff, daughter Diane Badstibner (Carl), six grandchildren, one step-grandson, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sisters JoAn Saalwachter and Bettie Gilles, brother Jim Stowers, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory officiated by Rev. Paul Strahan. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
