Two people are facing several charges after being found with meth, fentanyl pills, and a handgun in their hotel room, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release, DCSO patrol deputies and detectives with the Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at the Days Inn in Owensboro after receiving information of drug trafficking.
“Upon executing the search warrant, Donald Joseph Millay, of Yelvington, was located standing in the doorway of the bathroom, water in the toilet running, and fentanyl pills laying in front of the toilet,” the release reads.
According to DCSO, Destiny Lynn McGehee, of Owensboro, was also located in the bathroom with Millay.
“The search of the room revealed a trafficking operation and seized were over 2 grams of methamphetamines, several fentanyl pills, several empty baggies used to package illegal narcotics, over $900 and a loaded 9mm handgun. A small baggie of methamphetamines was also located in McGehee’s handbag,” the release reads.
According to DCSO, McGehee is a convicted felon and Millay “has an active DVO on him which prohibits him from being in possession of a firearm.”
According to DCSO, Millay, 39, faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree — 2nd or > Offense (>or= 2 grams Meth) (Firearm Enhancement)
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance — 1st Offense (Carfentanil/Fentanyl Derivatives) (Firearm Enhancement)
- Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (Firearm Enhancement)
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO
- Execution of Daviess District Court Warrant of arrest for:
- Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition $10,000 < $1,000,000
- Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree
According to DCSO, McGehee, 31, faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree — 2nd or > Offense (>or= 2 grams Meth) (Firearm Enhancement)
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance — 1st Offense (Carfentanil/Fentanyl Derivatives) (Firearm Enhancement)
- Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (Firearm Enhancement)
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
