It’s nearly time for another Lanham Brothers Jamboree. The show returns to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum at 7 p.m. on March 9.
Brothers Barry and Randy Lanham will host the family-friendly show full of music, dance, comedy, skits, and crowd interaction. The jamboree began in 2003 at the Good Time Theatre at Diamond Lake Resort before moving to the Hall of Fame in 2019.
It’s been a mainstay there ever since, with one show each summer and another at Christmas. This is the brothers’ first-ever spring show.
“Randy and I are excited to present our spring jamboree in March,” Barry said. “With a stellar line-up of guest performers, the show will be a fresh experience for first-timers or regular attendees.”
Guests on the show include Paul Mosley, Jeff “Wildman” Hardesty, Hayley Payne, The Bluegrass Brothers, and The Footstompin Express Cloggers.
“I can’t wait to pick with Paul Moseley again. It’s been several years since he’s been on the show. He is a national thumb-picking champion and is one of the best in the world,” Randy said. “Jeff Hardesty and I have been playing for over 20 years together and will be doing many classic hit county and bluegrass songs that everyone loves. We do our version of ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia,’ and I will be playing a golden fiddle that I bought from the Charlie Daniels estate sale, so that will be super special.”
Randy added that Hayley Payne is a former student from his hometown of Knottsville, having success in Nashville as a singer and songwriter. Other former students on the show include The Bluegrass Brothers.
“I’m excited about jamming with Hayley again after all these years,” Randy said. “And, The Bluegrass Brothers are some of the best young talent you will ever hear. Everywhere they go, the crowd goes wild.”
As always, KET will film the 2-hour show and broadcast it on four occasions in the months following the event.
Since moving to the Hall of Fame, the Lanhams have sold out tickets for every jamboree. To learn more or to purchase tickets, visit bluegrasshall.org.
“I think people like the family fun atmosphere,” Randy said. “We always have some tricks up our sleeves with comedy and crowd interaction. You never know what’s coming next, and that’s just the way we like it.”
