Barbra Ann Sutton West, 82, of Utica passed away peacefully Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Signature Heath Care at Hillcrest. Born September 21, 1936 in Beech Grove, KY, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Dessie Bottoms Sutton; and was a member of Utica United Methodist Church. Barbra loved playing bunco and all her bunco girls. She never met a stranger and always had a kind word and was loved by everyone. She loved to talk and made a great Avon representative for years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David R. West; a brother, T.F. Sutton; and sisters, Evelyn Benningfield Salzman and Linda Fogle.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, LaVega West; sons, LaVega (Juliene) West of Muskegon, MI and James (Teresa) West of Utica; a daughter-in-law, Lisa West of Owensboro; grandchildren, Lovisa West of Owensboro, Maria West of Florence, SC, Lacey West (Blake) Hamilton of Utica, Sean West of Columbus, OH, Nicholas West of Whitehall, MI, and Dalton (Morgan) West of Utica; and a great-grandson, Reed Alexander Hamilton; and another great-grandson due in July.
Services are 5 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev Jim Keegan officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. prior to the service.
