Shawn Smith launched Ever Bin Clean – a trash bin cleaning service – in 2017. After seven years of success, he listed the business for sale, eventually selling it to Brad Brown and Delbert Falloway.
The Browns were Smith’s long-time customers, and they received an email that he was closing the business and would no longer offer the service. Within 15 minutes of receiving the email, Brown called Smith, expressing interest in purchasing it.
“I called him on a Thursday and went and saw the operation on a Friday,” Brown said. “I spoke to Delbert about it that evening, and we went to take one more look at the machine on Saturday before we bought it on Sunday.”
Since purchasing the business, Brown and Falloway have updated some of the equipment and expanded their service options. As they strive to span the entire tristate with the service, they now offer a one-time service along with monthly, bi-monthly, and bi-weekly cleanings.
Brown’s daughter Brooke is a recent Kentucky Wesleyan College graduate and manages the business. She coordinates the logistics, handles customer service, and manages the marketing.
“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do,” Brooke said. “I always wanted to run a business, and being able to do that here in Owensboro is big for me. I love working with the people in our community, and this business allows me to work with people in Owensboro and the surrounding communities.”
Brooke said her dad bought the business with her future in mind and considered it an ideal business opportunity for them. Brown and Falloway possess an entrepreneurial spirit and have successful business experience.
“They saw it as a smart investment and opportunity for growth,” she said. “Watching both of these guys run successful businesses was an inspiration to me. I want to run a business and be successful at it. The knowledge that both of them bring has helped in several ways.”
Over the years, Brooke said she’s been privileged to observe their work ethic, business tactics, communication with people, and ability to handle multiple things simultaneously.
“Their determination and success inspires me,” she said. “I know I am ready for the challenge. I want to grow Ever Bin Clean not just in Owensboro but also in the surrounding areas.”
In addition to managing the books and the marketing, Brooke is leaning on her father and Falloway to teach her how to prep the machine and drive the truck.
Ever Bin offers residential and commercial bin cleaning and pressure washing services. Its goal is to expand to Henderson, Rockport, Santa Claus, and more.
“We have a lot of plans for Ever Bin Clean and are excited to see how well it grows,” Brooke said. “We can’t thank the community enough for supporting our business. Sign up today to have your trash cans smelling and looking better than new. We look forward to working with all of you.”
