Nelda Sosh 66, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Nelda Marie Sosh was born March 17, 1958 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Woody Owen and Alice Margaret Coin Sosh. Nelda’s life was a testament to the love and warmth that she so generously spread throughout her 66 years.
Nelda grew up in a home filled with love and laughter. Her upbringing in Daviess County laid a strong foundation for the admirable life she led, one centered around family, faith, and friendship. Nelda’s nurturing spirit was evident to all who knew her, making her role as a homemaker not merely a job but a calling. She poured her heart into creating a welcoming and loving environment for her family, a legacy that will live on for generations.
Nelda’s interests were a reflection of her outgoing and friendly nature. She relished the simple pleasure of engaging conversations with friends, never missing an opportunity to connect and share a kind word. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and as a member of the Pentecostal church, she found strength and solace in her beliefs and the community she found there.
Above all, Nelda’s heart belonged to her family. She was at her happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose achievements and milestones were her greatest delights. Her love was a guiding force, fostering a sense of unity and support that her family will carry forward.
Those who knew Nelda will remember her for the friendly smile that never failed to light up a room and the kindness that she extended to everyone she met. She was the epitome of warmth and generosity, touching the lives of many with her gentle spirit.
Nelda is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Harris (Eddie) of Sacramento; a life-long friend, Joe Ammon of Hartford; three grandchildren, Jordon Sosh, Kimberly Humble and Brittany Harris; five great-grandchildren, Addison, Emmaleigh, Thackery, Easton, and Bryleigh; and a sister, Reva Monneyhan (Jack) of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Nickel Ridge Cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may visit with Nelda’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
