
Dennis Glenn “Dennie” Blair, Sr., 73, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born July 25, 1951 in Daviess County to the late Oscar Ray Blair and Anna Lee Wilhite Blair. Dennis worked as a heavy equipment mechanic in construction and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. Dennie was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was known for the countless tales shared about his adventures in the wilderness, and at hunting camps. His garage was a gathering stop where many of these stories were told, filled with laughter and camaraderie. He had great appreciation for car shows and cherished time spent with friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronald Blair, his twin, Roger Blair, and Robin Blair; and his-sister-in law, Darlene Blair.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joni Hardesty Blair; children, Dennis Blair Jr. (Angie) and Kristie Blair; grandchildren, Taylor Blair, Sydney Blair, Morgan Horn (Kaitlyn) and Samantha Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Josie and Asher; siblings, Ray Blair (Sheri), Steve Blair Sr., Terry Blair (Cathy), Sherry Cumbie (Mike), and Michael Blair (Sharon); and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3306 Fenmore Street in Owensboro. A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial will be held at a later date.
