
Dolores F. Thompson Lively, 84, of Owensboro passed away on August 8, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Owensboro on November 16, 1939, to the late Herman and Martine Ling Thompson. Dolores retired from the Post Office after 20 years as a Rural Post Carrier. She is a member of Stanley Baptist Church and the Daviess County Pork Producers. She enjoyed watching UK Basketball, working all kinds of puzzles, collecting recipes and paperweights.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, of 33 years, Daniel Lively; her son Bud Lively; and her sisters Sandra Hines and Brenda Baxter.
Dolores is survived by her children Beverly Lively (Jack) of Marietta, Georgia, Cheryl (Bob) Goatee of Stanley, Kentucky, and Tammy Lively (Bryan) of Owensboro, Kentucky; her grandchildren Willie (Micah) Goatee, Jim Goatee, and Kayla Lively (Junior); her great-grandchildren Karyn, Jon, and Jackson.
Services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be 12:30 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date.
