Darrel Lewis Johnson 78, of Sacramento, Kentucky passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at his home in Sacramento. Darrel Lewis Johnson was born March 30, 1946 in Bremen, Kentucky to the late Ballard and Edna Earl Tucker Johnson and was married to the former Linda Carole Ray on August 1, 1969. Lewis was a man of integrity, warmth, and dedication, whose life was a testament to the values he held dear.

Lewis honorably served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran, a chapter of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and respect. After his military service, he embarked on a career at Alcan Aluminum in Robards, where he dedicated 22 years before retiring. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and hardworking individual.

He was a member of Sacramento Baptist Church. Lewis’s life was marked by the simple pleasures of spending time with his children and grandsons, whom he adored.

An avid fan of University of Kentucky Basketball, Lewis rarely missed a game. His other passion was woodworking, a craft where he expressed his creativity and skill. Lewis’ memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by three brothers, Shelby Johnson, Danny Johnson, and Jeff Johnson.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Ray Johnson; a son, Michael Johnson of Madisonville; a daughter, Melanie Gentry (Brandon) of Bowling Green; two grandsons, Ethan Gentry and Jack Gentry; a brother, Jerry Johnson (Mary) of Sacramento; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Lewis’ family from 11:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.
