
Douglas W. Sailors, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Owensboro, Kentucky, on August 20, 2024. Born on October 4, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Doug was a man of many passions, a retired self-employed entrepreneur, and a truly beautiful pianist.
Doug was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frances Sailors and Victor W. Sailors. His life was filled with a love for music, history, and the simple joys of life. He was an avid golfer, loved spending time on the beach, and enjoyed yachting. Doug was also known for his keen interest in politics and was always ready for a lively discussion. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Doug loved entertaining and was a perfect host. His home was always open to his friends and family, where they would gather to enjoy good company, music, and laughter.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Jamie O’Bryan, and his three children: John Mitchell, Crystal Sellers (Ben), and Justin Beauchene (Jillian). He is also survived by his three stepchildren: J.W. O’Bryan (Lauren), Jessica Coats (Alex), and Jacquelyn Alemany (Andrew). Doug was the proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren, each of whom he adored. He is also survived by his sister, Janice Stamps (Mike), as well as numerous friends, including his best friends Bruce Riney and Kim Agner.
Services will be held at a later date.
