Elwanda “Wanda” Stinnett, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, August 24, at Wellington Parc. She was born January 16, 1944, to the late Jesse and Cora Brown. Wanda was a member of the American Legion. She loved the outdoors and being on the go. Wanda enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bingo, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Elza Stinnett; a son, Ricky Stinnett; brothers, Marvin, Barry and Ray Brown; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Ferguson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Spencer Stinnett (Cindy) and Shelly Ferguson; sister, Barbara Wells (Jim); brother, Bill Brown; grandchildren, Adam Stinnet (Megan), Travis Ferguson (Heather), Drew Stinnett (Kirsten), Clay Ferguson, Nick Stinnett, Eric Stinnett, Tabitha Stinnett, Ashley Thomas (Nolan), Cody Hornbrook, Brook Vandeveer, and Justin Kinison; as well as 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Wanda will be 2 PM Friday, August 30, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday, from 3 PM until 7 PM and Friday, 11 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
