A man has been arrested following a stabbing incident early Sunday morning, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to an email sent Tuesday afternoon by OPD to Owensboro Times, patrol officers responded at approximately 3:30 a.m. on September 8 to a disturbance in the area of Jed Place and West 6th Street.
“Once on scene, one adult male was found to have a stab wound and two other adult males had sustained minor injuries,” the email says.
According to OPD, patrol officers along with members of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department secured the scene and provided medical aid until the Owensboro Fire Department and AMR arrived. AMR transported the victim to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for further treatment.
Detectives were called to investigate the details surrounding this assault, OPD said.
The investigation led to Lizandro Dominguez, 24, of Daviess County, being charged with one count of first-degree assault and two counts of fourth-degree assault.
According to OPD, Dominguez was admitted and treated at the hospital for injuries he sustained during the assault and upon release was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on September 10.
