Martha Mae Pendleton, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on September 16, 2024. She was born December 20, 1938, in Henderson, KY, to the late Sylvester and Mary (Murphy) Byrne. Martha retired from Commonwealth Aluminum where she worked for more than twenty years.
In her spare time, Martha enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, working in her yard, and genealogy. Those close to her would describe Martha as thoughtful, caring, and sharp as a tack.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Pendleton, Sr. in 2019, and her siblings, John Byrne, Louis Byrne, Lucy Byrne, Marie McLeod, Lena Rose Medley, Martin Byrne, Mildred Dockemeyer, and Sister Mary Ignatius.
Martha is survived by her children, Sharon Keister (Steve), Rebecca Dodd (David), Kenny Pendleton, Jr. (Dianne), and Michael Pendleton (Penny), as well as fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Connie McKay, Stella Kaelin, and Stephen Byrne.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, with Fr. Will Thompson presiding. Visitation will be on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with prayers held at 6:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Saint Peter’s Cemetery.
