
Jerry Skinner 67, of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Jerry Lane Skinner was born December 31, 1956 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Melvin and Eva Mae Hatfield Skinner. Jerry lived a life marked by dedication to his passions and a deep sense of friendship.
As a young man, Jerry found his professional calling at the Indiana – Michigan Power Plant in Rockport, Indiana. His commitment and diligence were evident in his many years of service, where he not only contributed to the plant’s operations but also formed lasting friendships with his colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Jerry was a man of varied interests. He was an avid outdoorsman who found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies for Jerry; they were a way to connect with the world around him, to find peace in the quiet of the woods and the ripple of the streams.
Music and history were also passions of Jerry’s, providing him an endless source of entertainment and learning. His thirst for knowledge and appreciation for the arts were traits that he generously shared, often sparking lively discussions that could last for hours.
Jerry’s faith played a role in his life. As a member of Buttonsberry Baptist Church, he found strength and fellowship. His involvement in the church community was a testament to his belief in service and his desire to contribute to the lives of others.
Jerry’s legacy is not one of material possessions, but of the moments shared, the lives he touched, and the gentle impact he made on his little corner of the world.
In keeping with Jerry’s journey through life, his final days were spent in the compassionate care of the staff at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center, where he was treated with dignity and respect until his last breath.
Jerry Skinner’s life story is one of simple pleasures, steadfast work, and the pursuit of knowledge. He will be remembered as a man who lived with integrity, embraced his passions, and cherished his relationships. His presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is survived by several cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Monday, September 23, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Richland Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Jerry’s family from 1:30 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
