
James “Jimmy” C. Kennedy, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on September 7, 2024. He was born June 26, 1941, in Evansville, Indiana. He was the owner of Kennedy Equipment Hauling and Rigging and lived in Owensboro for most of his life.
Jimmy loved big trucks, fast cars, and dogs. In his younger days he could be found down at the river or in one of the local bars sharing drinks with buddies. In his later years, as his health declined, he relied heavily on the love, kindness, and resources of family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Kennedy Maro of Athens, GA, Christie Schomer of Acworth, GA, Candace Pyland of Owensboro, and Kellie Kline of Bainbridge Island, WA; grandchildren Alexis, Andrew, Quin, Eli, Luis, Siara, Sam, Ben and lan; as well as several siblings, nieces and nephews.
A private service was held for Jimmy on September 19, 2024, and he was laid to rest at Rosehill-Elwood Cemetery.
