Debbie “Darlene” Brown, 71, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born October 14, 1952 in Daviess County to the late Thurman Miller Dawson and Bernadean Thomas Dawson. Darlene worked as a secretary for Trinity Bible College and previously worked at Jumpin Jacks in Hancock County. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, knitting, and decorating cakes. She was a huge UK fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart. Darlene will be missed by everyone who was in her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold Eugene Brown; a sister, Connie Armstrong; and a son-in-law, Duane Nicholson.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Lynn Nicholson; son, Bobby Brown; five grandchildren, Allie Johnston (Dane), Kailyn Emerson (Austin), Josh Brown (Jordan Stanley), Tesla Brown and Jovi Brown; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Hayden; sister, Denise Bell; niece and nephew, Mary Beth Murdock and Michael Murdock (Gabriella); great-nieces and nephews; Arya, Iroh, Emrys, and Orome; and her furry friends, Brownie and Gracie.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. The service will be live-streamed at www.davisfuneralhome.com. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
