A 42-year-old Owensboro man has been charged with multiple counts related to possession of child porn, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, at approximately 6 a.m. on October 24, patrol officers, emergency response team members, and detectives from OPD executed a search warrant in the 3700 block of Ralph Avenue.
According to OPD, the search warrant was the result of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force investigation that was reported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding child sexual abuse material.
Authorities said the investigation led to the identification of Phillip Erb as the suspect in this case.
With the assistance of the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Postal Inspector, OPD detectives arrested and charged Erb with three counts of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (under 12) and one count of possession of methamphetamine (3rd or greater offense).
“We are committed to protecting the community and especially our most vulnerable by having specially trained detectives who serve on the ICAC task force and target individuals who prey on children,” OPD said in the release.
