The Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation has named Summer Crick Aldridge as its new director of marketing, special projects, and administrative support. Part of her duties will include working with local agencies and leaders to market Owensboro-Daviess County as a desired location for investment and business expansion.
A release from GOEDC says Aldridge, an alumna of Kentucky Wesleyan College, brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Most recently, she served as KWC’s senior director of engagement, leading alumni association efforts and career development initiatives.
Aldridge has a longstanding connection to GOEDC, having served as the organization’s first college intern in 2010. She began her career as a public administration specialist at the Green River Area Development District before becoming community development director for the City of Madisonville, where she focused on tourism, beautification, and downtown revitalization.
“I am thrilled to be returning to the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation and to contribute to the ongoing growth and success of this thriving community,” Aldridge said. “I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to working alongside the GOEDC team to strengthen Owensboro’s position as a hub for innovation and economic opportunity.”
The release said Aldridge will collaborate with local businesses, government entities, and community leaders to develop marketing strategies that highlight Owensboro as an ideal destination for investment and business expansion.
“We are thrilled to welcome Summer Crick Aldridge to our team. Her passion for economic development, combined with her impressive skill set, makes her the perfect fit for this role,” said Claude Bacon, GOEDC president and CEO. “We look forward to the fresh perspectives, energy, and opportunities for growth and collaboration that she brings with her.”
A native of Madisonville, Aldridge earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from KWC and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Evansville. Her community involvement includes board service with Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County and membership in the Owensboro Chamber Young Professionals. She has been recognized with several honors, including Owensboro’s 40 Under 40 list, KWC Staff Member of the Year, and Hopkins County’s Citizen of the Year.
Beyond her professional roles, Aldridge is the co-owner of Something Borrowed, an event planning and rental business in Owensboro that has grown significantly since its launch in 2022. The business was recently nominated for the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Business of the Year Award.
GOEDC is the primary economic development agency for Owensboro and Daviess County, focusing on attracting and retaining employers and fostering entrepreneurial growth.
