
Lee Charles Berg Jr., 70, of Owensboro, passed away on January 11, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1954, in Fort Hood, TX to the late Lee Charles Berg Sr. and Mary Theresa Reutman Berg.
Lee was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed sports and was an official for 48 years calling games for both River Valley and the 3rd Region sports officials. Lee served as principal of two elementary schools, Mary Carrico Catholic School in Knottsville, KY, and St. Bernard’s Catholic School in Rockport, IN.
Along with his parents, Lee is preceded in death by his daughter, Chrystal Hamilton, and his sister, Theresa Beier.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Arlene Howard Berg; daughter, Rhonda Hamilton; siblings, Sue (Carl) Blinzinger of Tell City, IN, Jody Berg of Ferdinand, IN, Don (Carma) Berg of Fulda, IN, Tom Berg of Lamar, IN, Mike Berg of Tell City, IN, Pat Berg of Santa Claus, IN, and Jen (Steve) Peter of Leopold, IN; fur-baby, Lucy; 29 nieces and nephews and 54 great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Mike Williams officiating. Burial to follow at St. William’s Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
