
On Monday morning, January 13, 2025, Norma Edwards, 81, of Utica, completed her journey and is now home. She chose to have “Journey’s Over – I’m Home” on her marker. Norma was born December 14, 1943 in Louisville to the late James Russell Owens and Mary Lou Humphrey Owens. She married her husband of 57 ½ years, Montie Edwards, on a hot July 1st day in 1967. Special times in her life were sitting on the front porch reading and other times tending to the flowers. Norma always enjoyed the trip to Lexington, since November 26, 1977, to spend time in their seats watching UK basketball. Special yearly times, since 1995, was to enjoy college baseball at Omaha and spend time with what became an extended family to her. She had many special times traveling with tour groups while taking in beautiful sites and locations throughout our wonderful United States. Her most precious times were on Sunday mornings, since 1976, spending time and serving others at Bellevue Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Tony, and Jimmy Owens.
She is survived by her husband, Montie Edwards; children, Chris Edwards of Harrisonburg, Virginia and Ginger Edwards of Louisville; a brother, Johnny Owens (Mary Jane) of Hawesville; sisters, Barbara Pulvino (Tom) of Utica, Kathy Korngruen (David) of Haddonfield, New Jersey, and Nancy Pruden (John) of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Bellevue Baptist Church. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Norma’s request to honor her and her life, was for others to do a good deed for or help their neighbor or friend and to donate to their favorite charity.
