
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maury Tré Duneghy, a devoted father, loving son, cherished brother, and loyal friend. On January 08, 2025, at the age of 34 Tré peacefully transition from this world. Leaving a legacy full of love, kindness, and tenderness behind for his family and friends to cherish.
Tré was born on October 10, 1990, in Dallas, Texas to Phoebe Duneghy and the late Ronald Tolliver. He was a beautiful soul, who brought laughter and cheers to everyone who encountered him.
Tré was devoted to his daughter Raegan Duneghy, he was her rock, constantly giving her guidance, sharing his wisdom, and showing his unconditional love and patience, while cherishing every moment between them. Tré’s love for his family will be deeply missed.
Tré was an epic fan of sports. He enjoyed them all, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was also an outstanding football player for the Owensboro High School Red Devils and a player for the Eastern Baseball League here in Owensboro.
Tré had a love for automobiles and motorcycles. One of his favorite pastimes was cruising the roads and traveling. When Tré wasn’t traveling, you could find him standing in front of the grill. He was known as “Grill Master” grilling ribs and chops for his family and friends while listening to ole school music.
Tré loved the Lord and was a resolute member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Junior Deacon Board.
Also preceding him in death are his grandmother, Edna Duneghy and great-grandmother Lorene Wickliffe.
Those left to embrace Tré’s memories are his beautiful daughter Raegen Duneghy; his kindhearted stepdaughter Maddie Decker; his devoted parents, Phoebe Duneghy James (Wayne Griffith) and Tony James (Eve Bell); his loving siblings, one brother TJ James (Rose), four sisters Mauricha Duneghy, Kristen Wigginton (Kevin), Aja James, and Mariya “Bri” Winstead; his caring grandparents Rodney Jackson (Debbie) and Celeste Dewberry (Whalion); his loyal godmother Jan Crick; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
They will all laugh and smile when remembering Tré’s favorite words, “Don’t do ‘at!”
Funeral services to celebrate Maury Tré Duneghy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Zion Baptist Church, 2311 W 9th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301
Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301 and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday at the church. Entombment will follow the service at Owensboro Memorial Gardens in the Christ Chapel Mausoleum, 5050 KY-144 Owensboro KY 42303.
