Mark Robert Werner, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on February 8, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1944, to the late Robert and Florance Werner.
Mark was a General Laborer and served our country in the Air Force. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4168, VFW Post 696, The American Legion, and AMVETS. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed having a good time and reminiscing with friends. He was employed at Kroger for the last 20 years where he made lasting connections with friends who will miss him dearly.
Along with his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his daughter, Karanne Marie Lloyd and his brother, Richard Werner.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Mark Robert Werner and Lacie (Cody) Fussner; his grandchildren, Zakariah, Trenton, AuTrae, Caiden, Drake, and Sunny; his siblings, Timothy, Michael, James, Ann and Katherine Werner, and his best friend, Maria.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of charitable donations made to VFW Post 696, 311 W Veterans Blvd, Owensboro, KY 42301 and/or Fraternal Oreder of Eagles 4168, 1710 Starlite Dr, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Mass of a Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at St. Stephen Cathedral with Fr. Will Thompson officiating. Family and friends can visit on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory and again on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
