
Phil Kirtley 82, of the Buttonsberry Community in McLean County passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. Phillip Brooks Kirtley was born November 27, 1942 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Oscar and Marjorie Bennett Kirtley and was married to the former Doris Faye Johnson on July 18, 1964.
Phil was the owner and operator of Kirtley Oil Field Maintenance and a member of Owensboro Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his family, and daily watching and feeding the birds, especially the Red Birds.
In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Kirtley Hudson and by five brothers, Ernest Kirtley, Lucky Kirtley, Doug Kirtley, Bruce Kirtley, and Kenny Kirtley.
Phil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faye Kirtley; a son, Michael Kirtley (Shannon) of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Tammy Douglas of Island and Kim Hudson of Owensville, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Lana Browder (Justin), Cheyenne Hudson, Kayde Lantaff (Denver), Alex Hudson, Brock Kirtley, Jack Kirtley, Caroline Kirtley, and Ike Kirtley; three great-granddaughters, London Browder, Salem ‘Peaches’ Lantaff, and Wrenley Lantaff; a brother, Gene Kirtley of Beech Grove; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Berry and Linda Sue Brooks both of Henderson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2025 at Island Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Phil’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.
