A pair of Rapid Response Meetings will be held on Friday for former employees of Green River Distillery, providing job search assistance and other resources related to their layoffs.

The distillery announced last week it was laying off an undisclosed number of employees. The Rapid Response Meetings are scheduled for March 21, with one session at 9 a.m. and another at 10:30 a.m. The meetings will take place at The Kentucky Career Center (3108 Fairview Drive).

The sessions are being hosted by the Green River Area Development District (GRADD) Workforce Development Department in collaboration with the Kentucky Career Center (KCC).

“Rapid Response meetings are a vital service we provide to help laid-off workers transition smoothly into their next career by connecting them with essential resources, job opportunities, and support,” said Director of Workforce Development Michelle Drake.

During the Rapid Response Meetings, GRADD members along with help from the KCC will provide attendees with job search assistance, career counseling, retraining programs, unemployment information, and other information related to their layoff.

“These Rapid Response Meetings will provide assistance in securing a new opportunity,” said Daviess County Judge-Executive Charlie Castlen. “I encourage each individual to take advantage. Our thanks to GRADD and the Kentucky Career Center for creating these meetings. We want our friends and neighbors to find new jobs as quickly as possible.”
