It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pam Porter, who left this world on April 27, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by her loving family. Pam met the love of her life, Paul Porter, and was often hailed as a saint for being married to him for nearly 50 years. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two daughters, Connie Beth (Michael) Fillman and Katie (Adam) Burns — who were Pam’s entire world until her grandbabies came along. She was the proud and devoted “Memaw” to her five beautiful grandchildren — Rafe, Norah, Isla, Rowan, and Vivian — who brought her endless joy and whom she adored beyond measure.
Those who knew Pam will always remember her lighthearted spirit and quick wit. She had a knack for finding humor even in the most serious moments, and if you were lucky enough to sit beside her at a gathering, you were guaranteed a more entertaining experience. Her laughter was contagious. When she laughed, you couldn’t help but laugh with her.
Pam centered her life around her family. She loved hosting holidays and gatherings at their home, where the doors were always open. She made every gathering feel special, creating a space where family and friends could come together and make memories. She was a devoted member of St. Joe & Paul Catholic Church, which she attended with her family for over 35 years. She was a fan and friend of The Van-Dells, a love she passed down to her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter.
Pam is also survived by her sisters, Debbie Worthington, Candy Stroebel, and Penny Worthington, and her stepbrother, Eddie Webster.
She was preceded in death by her father, James G. Worthington, her mother, Mary Childers, and her brother, Rod Worthington.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
