Jack Mefford, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday April 27, 2025. He was born at home on November 24, 1948, in Vanceburg, Kentucky. Jack was the son of Floyd and Ethel Mefford and was one of their seven children along with one half-brother. He is survived in death by four of his siblings; Betty Harris, Steve Mefford, Kay Arthur, and Peggy Burton.
Jack was a loving husband to his wife Dorothy for 53 years. Together, they built a family with their three children—Rebecca, Amanda, and Aaron – whom he loved dearly and guided through life by Bible principles. He was also a proud grandfather of five grandsons, Jake Bridges, Max Bridges, Dash Bridges, Ian Mefford, and Henry Mefford.
Although Jack had long career as a skilled machinist with varied hobbies and interests, his foremost passion was studying and teaching others about the Bible. Jack was known for his kind approachable nature that gave encouragement and comfort to those in need.
Words cannot express the loss both to family and congregation. There will be a memorial service for Jack at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (2208 Tamarack Rd. Owensboro, Ky 42301) on May 3, 2025, at 2:00pm.
