
Betty Mae Cason, 101, of Owensboro received the desire of her heart to depart and be with her Savior on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. A long-time resident of the Carmel Home, the Baltimore, MD native was born July 29, 1923, to the late James Thomson and Margaret Smith Thomson. Betty Mae was a feisty, energetic, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and an encouragement to her church and all who knew her. She spent many years as a missionary in Columbia working with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Betty Mae was a huge proponent of natural healing and health and worked in the office for Dr. Cliff Robertson, a homeopathic doctor. Her life was characterized by serving others, worshiping God, and prayer.
In addition to her parents, Betty Mae also was preceded in death by her son, David Cason in 2014 and daughter, Trish Barrient in 2012.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Harry Cason of New York, NY; three grandchildren, Rob Cason and wife Ginger of Huntersville, NC, Travis Barrient of Owensboro, and Christine Cason Hinman of Lancaster, SC; five great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 13 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the Carmel Home and 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
