DRAKESBORO – Donnie Leon Dobbs, 85, of Drakesboro, passed away at 3:40AM at his home on Saturday, May 10, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1939, to the late William and Lettie Dobbs of Cleaton. He was married to Patricia Ruth Dobbs for 47 years before her passing this past March. He was a retired machinist at Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a member of Cleaton Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved a good fishing adventure with friends and family and playing golf in all weather conditions. He loved to read, and what started out many years ago as a few books in the living room, later grew into a garage full of bookshelves. He enjoyed studying his Bible daily and was always ready to give someone a Bible lesson if they stopped by for a visit. He also loved going to thrift stores and yard sales, and could never pass up a good vinyl record when he found one. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and would be ready for any activity or adventure they planned. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lettie Dobbs; his loving wife, Patricia Ruth Dobbs; three brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by one daughter, Samantha (Brian) Jones; two sons, Tracy (Telenia) Dobbs and Clay Dobbs; two sisters, Martha Billingsley, and Wanda Angel; seven grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Jacy Jones, Jordan Dobbs, Andrew Dobbs, Triston Dobbs, Addie Dobbs, and Lexie Dobbs; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11AM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Jones officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
