Catherine Louise "Lulu" (Wilson) Thompson

Catherine Louise “Lulu” (Wilson) Thompson, 68, of Owensboro, journeyed over to her heavenly home where she encountered her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and received healing when Jesus called her home. Lulu was born April 16, 1957, in Louisville, originally from Fancy Farm, KY, to Frank and Linda Goatley Wilson. She graduated from Owensboro Catholic in 1974. Her journey took her to North Carolina and back to her hometown of Owensboro. Lulu was “a one of a kind” girl, that loved her family fiercely. She enjoyed photography, music, horses, fishing, and her soap operas and westerns. Lulu was a hard worker and had a servant heart, which is why she flourished as a waitress for many years and considered several of her customers as family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Wilson; bonus dad, Chuck Wilkins; grandparents, Paul Goatley, Catherine Goatley and Helen Goatley, Otto Wilson and Mamie Wilson; and great-grandson, Grayson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Linda Wilkins; her legacy of a beautiful blended family: children, Bobby Thompson, Randy Linter (Amy) and Tammy Price; grandchildren, Josh Thompson (Elizabeth), Autumn Thompson, Breyanna Thompson, Makiya Brown, Jeremy Linter, Laura Linter, Renee Price, Morgan Price (Trey), and Carson Price; great-grandchildren, Nash, Levi, Kryson, Addison, Easton, Raelynn, Everly, and Baby Thompson joining in November of 2025; siblings, Paul Wilson (Kathy), Diana Brumley (Tony), Angela Douglas (Jerry), Mary Jane Wilson and Christy Wilson; bonus sisters, Debbie Allman-Smith and Pamela June Baker-Sibrel; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Catherine will be 2 PM Friday, May 16, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

A special thank you to Dr. Jacob Hodskins and staff at Mitchell Cancer Center, and HPC nurse Sandy, for the exceptional care given. Lulu’s memory will forever be a blessing.
