A night of cards, auctions, and community support is on deck as the Senior Community Center Advisory Council prepares to host its Monte Carlo Casino Night fundraiser this Saturday.

The event runs from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Ss. Joseph and Paul Parish Hall, located at 514 East Fourth Street. Tickets can be purchased at the door, and space is limited.

Tickets are $25 per person and include appetizers, a set of 25 game chips, and access to an evening full of entertainment. Guests can use their chips to try their luck at Texas Hold ‘em, Blackjack, and Seven-Card Stud — or opt for a few rounds of trivia if cards aren’t their thing. A cash bar will offer wine, beer, margaritas, soft drinks, and water.

Players can exchange their chips for tickets at the end of the evening and enter prize drawings. Raffle items include a collectible decanter, Italian vase, $50 gift certificate to The Miller House, handcrafted side table from Furniture Warehouse, and pre-cooked meals from Joy of Cooking.

The live auction begins the evening and features standout items such as four grandstand seats at Keeneland paired with a bottle of Ezra Brooks bourbon, an elaborate spa package, a stained glass art piece, a silver necklace, a Pearl Golf Course outing, and a wagon packed with garden equipment and flowers.

In addition to the casino and auction, the event will include a half-pot drawing.

Proceeds support the Senior Advisory Council’s year-round efforts to enhance the lives of local seniors through activities and events. In the past year, the Council has helped fund trips, covered costs for the Mt. Zion Apple Fest outing, organized holiday celebrations and monthly bingo prizes, and purchased Christmas gifts for seniors.
