
Benny Keith Redfern, 69, cherished and adored husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather departed this world on May 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 2, 1956 in Owensboro, KY. “Papoo” retired from truck driving after 50 years, was a member of Belton-Beechmont General Baptist Church, and lived a life full of love, generosity, and a passion for helping others. His approachable demeanor and outgoing personality made him a favorite among friends and even strangers. Papoo’s heart was devoted to his family. He shared 25 years of marriage to his beautiful wife Sandy Redfern. Together they built a beautiful family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Selma Atherton and Walter Edward and Mary Pauline Redfern, his mother Kathleen Reba Atherton Redfern, and a nephew Scotty Huckleberry.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 22 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Bro. Bobby Allen officiating. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Redfern of Greenville, KY; his father and step-mother, Walter E. “Goose” (Sue) Redfern of Livermore, KY; two adored daughters, Amanda Redfern of Lewisport, KY and Kelly Jo (Keith) Greenfield of Greenville, KY; five cherished grandchildren, Christian Redfern, Isaac Fraliex, Maycee Rogers, Tate Greenfield, and Mahaley Leinbach; three great grandchildren and one on the way; his brother, Barry Wayne (Bonnie) Redfern of Owensboro, KY, his sister, Ronda Jeffries of Bremen, KY; and several nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home.
