
CENTRAL CITY – James “Jim” Mitchell Sallee, 77, of Central City, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10:03AM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Mr. Sallee was born October 26, 1947 in Central City to James A. and Ruby Sallee. He was a member of Bible Way Holiness Church and was saved in 1985. He married his wife, Lue Graves in 1969. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a Coal Miner. He owned Poor Boy Furniture, and bought and sold property. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Ruby Sallee; grandparents, Gus, and Hettie Mitchell; and Burgess and Rethal Sallee.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lue Graves Sallee; children, James M. “Jim” Sallee Jr. of Petersburg, IN; Tisha (Jayme) Blakeley of Hopkinsville, KY; and Jason (Lea Ann) Sallee of Winslow, IN; grandchildren, Clayton Sallee, Collin Sallee, Kinley Deason, Morgan Sallee, Ruby Sallee, Jamie Sallee, Zarah Sallee, Glory Anna Sallee, Kylee Weathers, and Gage Weathers; great-grandchildren, Axel and Addi Sallee; brother, Larry Sallee of Central City; sisters, Barbara Gregory of Drakesboro, and Tilda (Larry) Shemwell of Drakesboro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 12PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Jerry Whithouse officiating, assisted by Bro. Larry Shemwell. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
