Anna Rea “Rea” Patton Greer, 92, of Whitesville, passed away on Thursday May 22, 2025, peacefully at her home. She was born on May 30, 1932, in Ohio County to the late Willie and Ruby Neighbors Patton. Rea loved to garden and watch basketball, especially Kentucky Wesleyan. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandson and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rea was preceded in death by her husband, Riley William Greer; her sister, Maxine Patton Barker; her dear friend, Sue Greer and her niece, Betsy Eaton.
Rea is survived by her son William (Ann) Greer; grandson Andrew (Theresa) Greer and three great grandchildren, Maggie, Mason and Lincoln Greer; nieces, Durinda (Rob) Rold, Sandy (David) Allgood, Angie (Glenn) Walker, Leah (Terry) McIlvain and nephew, Kevin Greer
A prayer service will be held at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 with burial following at Cates Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
